Ken Maynard

Ken Maynard, 77, of Florence, KY, died on February 26, 2018. Ken was born to George and Libby Maynard in 1940. He grew up in Evansville, IN. where he lettered in high school wrestling. He briefly attended UK before going to work in retail. He was employed by Thriftway Food and Drugs before retiring in 1996 and devoting his services to his church. Ken was a devoted member of Erlanger United Methodist Church and gave his time as treasurer, photographer and Santa.  He enjoyed woodworking, photography and gardening; but most of all watching UK Basketball. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also known for his generosity and being mischievous. He is preceded in death by first wife Ruby, his parents, brother Jerry, and sister Phyllis. He is survived by wife Susan; daughter Maria Sanford; step-sons Mike and Mark Walter; grandchildren Carrie Leonardo; Nicholas, Matthew, and Ryan Walter; step-grandchildren, Kristine Sexton and Kevin Trono; and great grandson Jesse Leonardo. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 10 am to 1 pm at Erlanger United Methodist Church followed by the service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn, Erlanger. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association at 644 Linn St. #1026 Cincinnati, Oh. 45203
