Kathleen “Kathy” Bolte passed away on July 09, 2024 surrounded by family and friends who
loved her dearly and whom she loved back. Kathy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September
18, 1945 to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (nee. Edelmeyer) O’Daniel.  Kathy’s life was a
testament to kindness and a giving nature.

Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Bolte, her brother, Tom O’Daniel,
her nephew, Rob Bolte, and her great-nephew, Charlie Hengehold.

She is survived by her three children; Daniel Bolte, Dawn Bolte, Deborah (Kevin) Bolte-Collins,
her siblings; Barb (Bob) Brown, Paul (Bev) O’Daniel, Rick (Lori) O’Daniel, Jim O’Daniel, John
(Lori) O’Daniel, Shelly (Tim) Lenhof, her sister in law, Kathy O’Daniel, numerous nieces &
nephews, and great nieces & nephews.

Kathy found joy in nurturing her garden and ensuring that local wildlife thrived. Her green
thumb was solidified while contributing to the thriving family business Florence Nursery for
over 40 years. Her compassionate heart extended beyond plants to the creatures she
welcomed into her life. Kathy had a special place in her heart for rescue animals and cared for
all those who her children brought home. She took great care in providing a safehaven for
those in need, exemplifying her kind nature.

Above all, Kathy cherished her Catholic faith and family deeply. She was a lifelong parishioner
of St. Paul Parish and she along with her siblings and children attended St. Paul School. Kathy
treasured holiday get-togethers with family, especially when there was a chance of beating her
brothers at a game of Scrabble. Family vacations were important to her throughout the years
to Gatlinburg and some of the most recent favorites were Naples, Jamaica, and Turks & Caicos.

Her dedication to putting others first and her unwavering support for her children were central
to her life’s purpose. Her children credit their faith, values, success and livelihoods to Kathy’s
unconditional love, support, and guidance. Kathy will be remembered also for her selflessness
as she was always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own.

Her kindness extended beyond her family, as she often opened her home and loved all of her
children’s close friends throughout the years. She even welcomed the “Bolte Bash” parties at
the Bolte house and would always make breakfast for the friends who stayed overnight. To this
day people still ask about the legendary “Mom Bolte”.

Kathy Bolte’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her children and all who knew her. She will be
remembered as the most forgiving, selfless, humble, and generous human that her family and
friends have ever known.

A visitation for Kathy will be held at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY on Monday, July
15, 2024 from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Mass will follow at St. Paul Catholic Church at 1:30pm.

Peace

Dawn, I am so sorry for you and your family. God Bless all and be filled with Love and Peace.

So sorry

I was so shocked and sorry to read of Kathy’s passing on Facebook tonight. I rode the bus with Kathy every day to work at P&G in downtown Cincinnati for many years and was honored to be in her wedding party. Wish we could have kept in touch. My condolences to her loved ones.
