Katherine Helmer

Katherine P. Helmer, 88, of Florence, died peacefully on Thursday, March 7th at her residence. She worked at Aetna Life Insurance Co. & retired from Ockerman Middle School cafeteria. She volunteered at St. Luke Hospital Florence for 10 years after retirement. Katherine was also a member of St. Paul Parish, Prime Time, and Tri-City senior groups. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Helmer Sr.; her sister Rita Feldmann; and her brother, Paul Kahmann. She was the loving mother of Rob Helmer Jr, Aneta Helmer, Kathy (Mark) Volpenhein, Eileen (Mike) Fiedler, and Diane (Ed) Prindle. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Nick (Lauren), Lisa, Eric, and Tony Volpenhein; Jason (Kelly), Christina, and Daniel Prindle; Matt, Craig, Jacob, and Brian Fiedler. She was the great-grandmother to Charles and Kylie Volpenhein. Visitation will be Monday, March 11th, from 5-8PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, March 12th at 12:10PM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Florence. Burial at St. John Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell.
