Joyce T. Jones

Joyce Turner Jones, 75, of Burlington, KY, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. Joyce was a 22 and a half year veteran of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Police Department. She made regional history as being the first female officer to join the ranks of the CVG Airport Police in April 1974. Although she was proud of being a police officer, she considered her greatest accomplishment to be her family. However, she was not just mom to her four children. She never met a stranger and every friend of her children called her “Mom.” It would be hard to find a single person to say one bad word against her. She touched the lives of so many in so many ways in her 75 years and was loved and respected by all she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ova and Flora Turner, sisters Iva Stenger and Audrey Stenger, and brothers George, James Edward, and Donald Turner. She will be dearly missed by her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 and a half years, James Jones; their children: “the twins” Jim Jones (Kim) and Jeff Jones (Sharon), John Jones (Lilly) and Andee Jones; her sisters: Freda Adkins and Janet Meierle (Garry); 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, as well as many family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY with Funeral Service to follow at the Funeral Home at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow services at Burlington Cemetery. Memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
