Joseph Conrad
Joseph E. Conrad, 88, formerly of Jupiter, FL and Ryland Heights, KY passed away on Saturday November 13th at The Seasons in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Conrad was an innovator and founder of development offices in higher education, having worked in development at Ohio State University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stephens College, Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, the University of Cincinnati, and the American University in Washington D.C. Mr. Conrad was a member of Phi Delta Theta, a member of the Episcopal Church, a proud graduate of Ohio State University, and a longstanding member of Ryland Lakes Country Club.
Mr. Conrad was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Tatgenhorst Conrad, and his second wife, Eugenia Funch Conrad. He is survived by daughters, Jill Allison Conrad of Chapel Hill, NC, and Susan Conrad Newton (James) of Chapel Hill, NC; son Clayton Reid Conrad (Margaret) of Chapel Hill, NC; brother, James Clarence Conrad of Middletown, OH; and grandchildren: Susan Elizabeth Newton, Anne Newton Crouch, Katharine Leigh Newton, Edward Adams Conrad, Jack Matson Conrad, and Evelyn Lucille Penn Conrad.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 20th, from 10:00-11:00a.m., at the Norman Chapel in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, with service following. Interment of ashes will immediately follow. Memorials are suggested to: Ohio State University Scholarship Fund, 1480 West Lane Avenue, Columbus, OH 43221; or charity of donor’s choice.
