John Harmeling

John “Jack” Harmeling, 87, of Elsmere, KY passed away on October 26, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. Mr.Harmeling was a Navy Veteran and a retired wreck master for B&O/CSX Railroad for 44 years. Mr. Harmeling was a member of St. Henry Church and farmed his land in Union. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Schwartz and brothers, Charles and Eugene Harmeling. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy “Dot” Harmeling of Elsmere, KY, daughters, Christy Wolfe, Claudia Harmeling, Candy (Dave) Ahr all of Erlanger, KY, Cathy Milner of Independence, KY and Laura Harmeling of Elsmere, KY, sons, Jerry (Barb) Harmeling of Erlanger, KY, Jack Harmeling of Union, KY, Jim Harmeling of Walton, KY, Jay (Ruth) Harmeling of Batavia, OH and Joe Harmeling of Florence, KY. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday October 30, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Erlanger, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Henry Church. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery Ft. Mitchell, KY with Military Honors. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Henry Church or Parkinson’s Assoc.
