John Cope Jr.

John Cope Jr. 88, of Erlanger, died on February 11^th at Woodcrest Nursing Home. Born in 1929, to John Sr. and Luella Cope, John spent his early years in Ohio. He entered into the Army Air Corp in 1946 at the age of 17. John served as a chemical tech who loaded napalm bombs. It was a little later in life that John met Lucille Haddix. The love he had for his bride is unparalleled. Even when he couldn’t walk, he’d stand on the porch and watch Lucille walk up and down the street to keep an eye on her, and make sure she was safe. John will be dearly missed by those who survive him. Wife, Lucille and children Melanie (Ben) Shipe and Kevin (Joan) Haddix. The family would like to truly thank the staff at Woodcrest and of St. Elizabeth Hospice.  A graveside service will take place on Thursday the 15^th at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY at 1pm. Memorial donations in John’s name can be made to the Kenton County Animal Shelter at 1020 Mary Laidley Rd. Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017
