Condolences

Joan Deye Wurtenberger, 94, of Crestview Hills, KY, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was a registered nurse for over 40 years, working at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Pediatric Care in Covington, KY.   Additionally, she was a Notre Dame Academy Graduate and St. Joseph Infirmary Nursing School Graduate, a past member of Summit Hills Country Club and a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Margaret (Kelly) Deye; her husband, Howard “Buddy” Wurtenberger; her brothers, Jerome Deye, Thomas Deye, Dennis Deye, Martin Deye; and her sister, Jennifer Deye.

Joan is survived by her children, Ken (Chris) Wurtenberger, David (Joan) Wurtenberger, Martha (Kevin) Barnes, and Amy (George) Beck; her brother, Steve Deye, and sisters-in-law Jean Deye and Jane Deye.

She also leaves behind grandchildren, Mark (Liz) Wurtenberger, Erik (Angie) Wurtenberger, Claire (Tony) Campagna, Emily (Nick) Schott, Kaitlyn (Kyle) Restle, Lauren (Johnny) Sullivan, and Kyle Beck; and her 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation for Joan will be on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 9:30am-11:00am at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am.
