Joan Burkhardt

Joan Burkhardt, 80, of Covington, was born at her home, 120 W. 6th St. across from Mother of God Church and she passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on March 5th, 2015. She worked as a buyer for Procter and Gamble for 17 years, she was a member of Mother of God Church for 80 years, and she also was a member of the Ladies Society at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary LaVelle; her siblings, Jack and James LaVelle, and Rosemary Tumulty; her son, Tom Guisinger; and her grandson, Michael Guisinger. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Bernard Burkhardt of Covington; her children, Donald (Linda) Guisinger of Athens, OH, Bettie (James) Rabe of Covington, Tim (Cheryl) Guisinger of Palm Coast, FL, and David Guisinger of Covington; and her brother, Jerry LaVelle of Littleton, CO. She also leaves behind her 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday March 13nth, 2015 from 10:30AM-12PM at Mother of God Catholic Church in Covington. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00PM at the church.
