Jerome Joseph Konys

Jerome “Jerry” Konys, age 77 of Edgewood, Kentucky sadly passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jerome was born on October 12, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Dr. Harry and Marie Konys. 

Jerome is preceded in death by his sister, Christine Konys.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Konys, his children; Zak (Julia) Konys, and Jessica Konys, his grandchildren; Vivian Brockman, and Ruby Konys, his siblings; Edward Konys, Karen (Lee) Czerniawski, David (Christine) Konys, Paul (Pam) Konys, Mark (Chris) Konys, his brother in law, Donald (Jean) Branzel, his sister in law, Joy (John) Kenny, and many nieces and nephews. 

Jerome grew up in Cleveland, Ohio with his six siblings. He was the second oldest. He later went to Cleveland State where he received his bachelor’s degree. He met his wife, Linda at “The Library”, a bar he was part owner of in Cleveland. They were married in 1974 and had their two children, Zak and Jessica Konys in Euclid, Ohio. In 1986 They moved to Edgewood, Kentucky where Jerome worked for the IRS Treasury department. Jerome loved nature and served as a scout master. He enjoyed fishing and golfing in his free time and was well traveled. Jerome had his pilot license and loved to fly his fathers airplane. Recently, he spent a lot of time volunteering for AARP and was currently taking history courses at Northern Kentucky University.

A visitation for Jerome will be held on Saturday, April 23 at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky from 9:00AM-11:00AM. A mass will follow at St. Pius X in Edgewood, Kentucky at 12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Avenue Dallas, Texas 75231) or a charity of donors choice.
