To my beloved brother in law

How to find the words to express the last 26 years? I wish I knew. For starters and for selfish reasons I never had to worry about my sister or my niece. They were always taken care of and loved …..because of you. But also you were such an inspiration to all of us in how you fought this battle with cancer. You inspire me to be stronger, be brave and tough during extraordinary circumstances. You’re a hero to us all. I will miss your smiling face at Christmas time, birthday parties, new years eves, and just sitting by the pool at my Dad and Cathy’s house. Don’t you worry about a thing, your girls will be watched over. I love you and I will miss you.
Love, your pain in the neck sister in law Laura

What a great guy!

Jeremy was one special person. He was the best mentor for our son Jack. Hurm got Jack to step up and be a good runner, 2 state titles and all-state runner. We knew nothing about cross country! He was always wonderful to these kids He coached, put up with their shenanigans. His family became so dear to us so quickly. I feel so blessed that God put Jeremy in our life. You fought a great battle, now rest in peace. Much love for you always. Kelly, Chloe and rest of Hurm family you are in my prayers. Love Sue McCue Goodwin

Goodbye to my dear friend and co-worker Jeremy

I have worked with Jeremy since sometime around 2013. It’s hard to summarize your feelings and experiences with someone in a couple paragraphs, but I hope my words encourage those reading. Jeremy was always great to work with. On a professional level, Jeremy was trustworthy and dependable. On a personal level, Jeremy was a great friend. He was outgoing and was typically the one who would welcome new people visiting our lab and make them feel welcome. I’ll always remember Jeremy as being such a nice guy with a great sense of humor. He often joked around with others in a fun and respectful way. I also had the pleasure of playing disc golf with Jeremy outside of work and also doing other non-work-related activities outside of work and I’ll cherish those moments spent with him.

Jeremy was a family man and was unselfish with his time. I worked with both Jeremy and his brother Aaron in the lab, and we had some great times together, and those memories will live on in my heart. Jeremy did a great job of keeping his brother Aaron in line when the need arose :). He often spoke of his wife Kelly and his daughter Chloe, and it was clear to me how important they were to him. He also spoke of his parents over the years, and it was clear to me the Hurm family was a tight knit family, which is such a great thing in today’s times. He had a strong passion for running and invested a lot of his time coaching others. I had the privilege of walking with him part of the time during the Hurm Dawg Frosty 5k and several of his running students talked to him during this time and it was clear to me that the thought highly of him.

Our work office will never be the same without you Jeremy. You will be missed my friend! Kelly, Chloe, Aaron and family will continue to be both in my prayers and my small group’s prayers at church.

Sincerely,

Greg
