Jeannette Van Strien

Jeannette Van Strien, age 78, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away on April 11, 2025.

Born on December 24, 1946, in Long Beach, California, Jeannette carried the warmth of the West Coast with her throughout her life. A devoted nurse, she spent many years in the physical rehabilitation department, offering care, comfort, and healing to countless patients. Her coworkers and patients alike knew her as a nurse through and through—someone who led with her heart and practiced with her whole being.

Fierce, feisty, kind, and caring—Jeannette was a force to be reckoned with. She stood firmly for what she believed in and was never afraid to speak her mind, especially when it came to advocating for those who needed her most. Whether in her profession or in her personal life, she put others before herself without hesitation. Her strength was matched only by her generosity and empathy.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Viola Cline; and daughter, Stacey Marie Van Strien.

Surviving her is her son, Steve (Jessica Reece) Van Strien; her grandchildren, Evan (Audree Jackson) Van Strien, Joshua (Julie) Van Strien, Emily Van Strien, and Scott Buckley; her great-grandson, Hunter Buckley; and her siblings, Patsy (Steven) Spurlock, Donald Driver, and Charles Driver.

Jeannette’s spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. 

She was—and will always be—deeply loved and forever remembered.
