Tributes
Janne Whiting Morlidge, age 91, of Fort Mitchell, KY passed into heaven peacefully at home on June 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 5, 1934 in Delaware, OH, Janne lived a life of love, joy, laughter, empathy, and care for others, with a special place in her heart for children.
Janne met the love of her life, John Morlidge, at the Spinsters Ball in Cincinnati; this marked the beginning of their 65 year love affair and marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Madelyn Whiting; her beloved sisters, Lynn Roy and Emily Johann; and brothers-in-law, Jack Roy and Walter Johann.
Janne is survived by her husband, John Morlidge; her daughter, Winkie (Joe) Lacy, her son Bailie (Shannon) Morlidge; her adored grandchildren, Coleman (Amber) Lacy, Bennett (Simcha) Lacy, Zach Morlidge, and Jake Morlidge; and great grandchildren, DJ Lacy and John Lacy. She also leaves behind 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and their spouses and children.
Professionally, Janne worked as a reservations and ticketing agent for both Piedmont and American Airlines in Cincinnati and San Francisco. After starting a family, she proudly devoted herself to being a homemaker – pouring her time, energy, and endless love into her home and her family.
Janne was the heart of her family – affectionately known as “Turbo Grandmother” or “TG”. Her endless energy was fueled by Dove dark chocolate and UDF Peanut Butter Chip ice cream – her husband called her the champion consumer of ice cream.
TG was always optimistic, joyful, and fun and she was the most kind and selfless person her family has ever known. She loved Jesus with all her heart, soul, and mind and she followed Him faithfully. She was a great blessing to everyone who knew her, always encouraging others with words, notes, letters, and gifts. Many of her children’s friends considered Janne their second mom.
Janne’s greatest love of all, in addition to her husband, was caring for and raising her children and grandchildren. She embodied a rare mix of strength, gentleness, kindness, selflessness, humor, and grace. Her life is her family’s inspiration.
A family service will be held at a later date.
