Janet Shepherd

Janet Lenore Shepherd (Martin), age 90, passed away on February 17, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, in Edgewood. She was born July 6, 1925, in Bellevue, KY. Janet worked with her husband Harold in their family businesses, Shepherd Construction and Shepherd Realty. Later she was employed by the Cincinnati Historical Society, where she was the receptionist. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Reds and UK basketball, on television, particularly later in life. Janet and her husband spent many days boating on the Ohio River, with longtime friends, and spent time in Florida together. The family attended Erlanger First Church of God, where she sang in the choir. Later, after the death of her husband, Janet became a member of Lakeside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her: husband Harold Shepherd, parents Robert Martin and Ruth Neyman Martin, brother Robert Martin, sister-in-law Alice Shepherd Martin, nephew Robert Martin Jr. (Chip), and grand-niece Shelley Baughn Mayo. She is survived by her: son Blaine Shepherd of Virginia Beach, VA, daughter Pennye Spencer (Jim) of Florence, grandchildren Jessica Kuehl (Dave), Joshua Shepherd (Stephanie), Eric Spencer (Erin), and Ryan Spencer, great grandchildren Roman, Carolyn, Rhiannon, and Hudson, sister Marilyn Clinkenbeard (Jim), niece Janlyn Martin Loomer (Wes), and grand niece Lori. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 1pm until 2pm, at Linnemann Funeral Home Erlanger. Funeral Services will immediately follow beginning at 2pm. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Erlanger. Memorial Contributions may be sent to St. Elizabeth Hospice 483 South Loop Rd. Edgewood, KY 41017.
