Janet Mary Burris

Janet Mary Burris, 75, of Erlanger, Kentucky passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Friday, June 19, 2026, at her home. She was born on February 11, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky to Rosemary (Waymeyer) Schepker and the late Ralph James Schepker.

Janet was a 1997 graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She had an immense love and gifted talent for caring for others. Her compassion was unwavering as her mission was to always care for those in need. Janet was employed with the Northern Kentucky Health Department for many years before retiring. She had been a longtime member of Erlanger Baptist Church since 1975 where she proudly served and worshiped her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was one of the most important aspects in her life. Janet had also been a member of Silverlake Recreational Center where she was very active in water aerobics in her spare time. She truly cherished the memories made and enjoyed the friendships made over the years. She was a huge part of the Kentucky Thorough-Breasts Dragon Boat Team for 18 years. Janet will be fondly remembered by her deep faith, loving, compassionate heart, and her strong will and determination for fighting life’s battles.

Preceding her in death are her father, Ralph James Schepker and her brother, Daniel Schepker.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her mother, Ms. Rosemary Schepker, her loving daughters, Julie (Randy) Stephens, Lisa (Chad) Long, Connie (Todd) Carl; numerous grandchildren whom she loved more than anything; her siblings, Gary Schepker, Edward (Sheri Knapp) Schepker, Pam (Jerry) Earl; sister in law, Adrienne Frucci; several extended family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Erlanger Baptist Church 116 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018 at 12:00 PM. Pastor BJ Donahue will be officiating the service. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM till the hour of service. Janet will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.
