James Wolfe

Obituary
Condolences

James Wolfe, age 76, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on February 11, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. James was born on May 9, 1949, in Covington, Kentucky to the late James and Virginia (née Trauth) Wolfe.

James built a successful career as a commercial lender with Huntington Bank, where he worked for many years. While he was dedicated to his profession, the titles he treasured most were “Dad” and “Grandpa.” His family was the center of his life and his greatest source of pride.

He is survived by his three children: Tony (Meredith) Wolfe, Jennifer (Kirby) Neumann, and Julie Wolfe Mudman; and his cherished grandchildren: Bryce Neumann, Lila Neumann, and Oxler Mudman. He is also survived by his siblings: Judi Wagner, Mike Wolfe, Susan Tavel, Leslie Wolfe, and Lynda Sabers.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Ginger Rawe, and his beloved dog, Buddy.

James loved and cherished his grandchildren more than anything — they truly lit up his world. He found great joy in fishing, especially on fishing trips with his son, Tony. He had a passion for cars and dogs and was always eager to support and encourage his children in their pursuits. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the steady presence he provided throughout their lives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be attended to privately by the family following the Mass at St. Stephens Cemetery in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.

James Wolfe

,

A good man raises great children.

I knew Jim from working at Wolfe Equine. He was always very nice to me and helped on the farm with anything that needed to be done.
I know Julie and Tony through my love of horses and animals.
Jim was a testament of “good men raise great children.”
His kindness will be missed by family and friends.

A wonderful man

Dear Wolfe family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I used to be the Volunteer Coordinator at Mentoring Plus and knew Jim to be a wonderful man. When he started volunteering as a Mentor, I was a little concerned that he wouldn’t have the patience to mentor an angry young man. But Jim quickly proved me wrong and went on to be a kind, firm yet gentle, and wise guide to more than one young man. He was wonderful and I am glad to have crossed paths with him in life.
Praying for your peace and comfort in this difficult time.
