James “Tim” McKinley, 86 of Erlanger, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Tim was a devout Catholic and graduated from St. Henry High School in 1956, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by dedication and leadership. As a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Tim earned the affectionate nickname “The Legend,” a testament his respect he garnered in his community. He also served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Tim loved the outdoors and found great joy in camping, golfing, and fishing. Social gatherings were never complete without Tim’s presence, as he was known for his vibrant social spirit, often found holding court, sharing a laugh, or enjoying a beer with friends. His love for cooking and old-time music added a special flavor to every gathering, making each moment memorable.

Tim is survived by his wife of 60 years: Mary Ann McKinley, daughter: Tara (Rick) Robke, son: John (Cathy) McKinley, son: Brian (Amy) McKinley, daughter: Katie (Ron) Rolfsen, grandchildren: Brittni Beck, Steven Egan, Kylie Mershon, Brady McKinley, Cameron McKinley, Jacob Robke, Tyler McKinley, Regan Rolfsen, Parker McKinley and Ava McKinley, and 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Martha McKinley, brother: Tom McKinley and sister: Barbara Tally.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10am to 12pm at St. Henry Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 12pm.  Tim will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
