RESTVIEW HILLS-­? James “Jim” G. Osborne, 81, passed away Tuesday February 17th at his residence in
Crestview Hills. Jim received his law degree from the University of Kentucky and started his legal career
as a district attorney for the Commonwealth Department of Transportation, served as an Assistant
Attorney General in Frankfort for two years before entering private practice with the firm of O’hara and
Ruberg, where he became a partner shortly thereafter. In 1983 he formed the law firm of Osborne,
Hillmann and Trusty, concluding his legal career in 2000 partnering with his daughter Lisa in the law firm
of Osborne and Osborne. Jim was a successful trial attorney with many successful verdicts. He was lead
defense attorney in the Beverly Hills Super club litigation. A colleague once said that he could cuss out a
jury so sweetly that they would award his client what ever he was seeking. He was a civic leader in the
community for many year and served various offices including President of the Kenton County Jaycees,
President of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, held numerous offices in State and Local bar
associations, and was Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Fort Mitchell Country Club where he
played golf with a standing foursome of Mer Grayson, Tom Ellis, And Bill Hill for many years. His interest
then turned to horses and he spent most of his leisure time with his friends, children and wife Karen at
their farm in Walton. His love of family has always been first and foremost and he spent his later years
surrounded by his children and grandchildren watching Kentucky Basketball games and enjoying the
summer at his backyard pool. Survivors include his wife Karen Osborne, daughter Valerie (Jim)
Gadomski, son Greg (Dana) Osborne, daughter Judge Lisa Bushelman, son Brady (Paula) Osborne,
brother Whit Osborne, brother Bob Osborne, sister Linda Beckman and brother David Osborne. Also
surviving are 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday February 21st
2015 from 2pm to 4pm with funeral services to follow at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger.
Cremation services will follow at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Center. In lieu of
flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Droege House Transitions 925 5th Ave.
