James Eckerle

James E Eckerle, 67, died Sunday April 10th at St Elizabeth Hospice in Ft Thomas. He was a Roadway Truck Driver for many years. Jim was a very loving husband for 17 years and enjoyed many things but none more than his grandchildren Nolan, Nikki, Paige and Brittany. Jim was an active member of AA for 25 years and cultivated many friendships that he held dear to his heart. His love for fishing, training thoroughbred horses, his motorcycle and sunshine always made him happy. For the last year he attended the Open Poor Community Church and was recently baptized along with his grandson Nolan. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Clem Eckerle and Dorothy (Kiser) Eckerle Cropenbaker and sister Joyce Morris. Survivors include his wife Debbie (nee Marlin) Eckerle of Erlanger, son Mike Eckerle of Alexandria, son Gail Watson of Goose Creek SC, daughter Leah Samowich of Erlanger, son Bennett Samowich of Seven Valleys PA, sister Mary Lee Jolly of Alexandria and brother Bill Eckerle of Ft Thomas. A memorial service will be held Friday April 15th 6pm at Open Poor Community Church 3528 Turkeyfoot Rd Erlanger KY 41018. Memorials may be made to the Charity of Donors Choice.
