Jack Stambro, 77, formerly of Hillview, KY entered eternal life on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Son of the late Gordon and Frances Stambro, Jack was a US Navy veteran of the Bay of Pigs invasion. He cherished his family and served his community. As a civically minded individual, Jack volunteered his time in many ways. He was a past member of the Hillview City, KY Council, a Zoneton, KY Fire Department engineer, a former member of St. Mary Church in Hillview, KY, and a  Kentucky Colonel. Jack enjoyed fishing and golfing, but above all, he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was affectionately known as the “Cookie Man” due to his long career with Keebler Cookies. Jack will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy Stambro; their children: Debbie Long (David), Joe Stambro (Dana), Susie Thomison (David) and Dan Stambro (Melissa); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Ellen Westerhouse (Roger); as well as many family members and friends. A visitation celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home and Event Center in Burlington, KY.

There will not be a formal service after the visitation.
