Hugh Gers
ERLANGER – Hugh E. Gers, 78, of Erlanger, died Wednesday, July 1, at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Health Care.
He was a self-employed helicopter mechanic who served in the Army during the German occupation and the Korean War. He restored helicopters at Fort Knox and Wright Patterson Air Force Base and coached little league.
His daughter, Jennifer Lewis, died previously.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Gers; daughter, Deborah Gers Mersereau of Flemington, N.J.; sons, Michael Gers and Steven Gers, both of Union; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 6, with the service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
