Condolences

Hans Jorgen Tandrup passed away on December 8, 2024 at his home in Lakeside Park, Kentucky.

He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 28, 1941 to the late George and Esther Tandrup.

Hans worked as a chef most of his life. He spent most of his career at the Gourmet Room a the Hilton Hotel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hanne Tandrup, his children, Claus Tandrup and Christine Mefford, and his grandchildren, Jett, Larkin, Branch, and Brewer Mefford, and Anna Tandrup.

He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

My Deepest Sympathy

Hans was a multi talented, passionate, and wonderful man who blessed the NDA track program and community with his love of track and field.
His true appreciation and love for cooking, carpentry, coaching, antiques, reading and family were the heart and soul of Hans. He was very generous in sharing his time and talents with others. My Deepest Sympathy to his loving family.

I’m Grateful for all that Hans taught me while we were coaching at Notre Dame.
Many of the athletes that he coached are better young women today because of the impact that he had on all their lives.
To a Great Coach and an even Better Human being who will be missed by many.

Our family has many great NDA Cross Country memories that we shared with Hans. The NDA XC trip to Canada will go down as one of the best!
