Obituary
Condolences

GREG SCHULTE, age 67, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Northern Kentucky. Greg left this world as he lived in it—with hope, perseverance, deep love for his family, and a touch of eye-rolling humor.

The second of six children born to William “Bill” (d. 2012) and Ruth (d. 2008) Schulte, Greg lived life to the fullest, always seeking new adventures. His motto could well have been “Hey brother, you’re 100%.”

Growing up in Villa Hills, KY, he was a standout athlete who loved to compete and make a habit of winning. As an adult, golf and cornhole became his favorite games, and he played every chance he got.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business, Greg built a successful career in construction. When a project arose—whether at a friend’s home or in the community—Greg was the one to call. Among his many accomplishments, one of the most notable was the Drees Pavilion at the Devou Park Overlook.

Greg and Janie loved welcoming family and friends into their home, sharing laughter and delicious meals—even co-authoring several cookbooks together. Greg never met a stranger; his warmth made everyone feel at home. Always the life of the party, he produced smiles wherever he went and was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jane (Janie) Schulte (née Balasa); three sons, Ryan (Stephanie) Schulte, Eric Schulte, and Tyler Hallman; and two cherished grandchildren, Owen (10) and Caroline (7). He is also survived by his five siblings: Cindy (Steve) Butcher, Laura (Bob) Babbage, David (Kathleen), Tim (Alison), and Todd (Kristen).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Go Pantry or to Faith Pharmacy in Greg’s honor.

Visitation will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 10272 US-42, Union, KY, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY, will be serving the family.

With Deepest Sympathy

Janie, Ryan, Eric and Tyler,
Our family is so sad to hear about Greg’s passing. We will look back fondly on all the good times we had on Lakewood Drive, when we were neighbors! The boys loved spending time skating on the lake all those years ago. Greg was a great neighbor and friend, and we know he will be greatly missed. Know we are thinking of you all during this time. The Ostendorfs. Mike, Holly, Zak, Alex and Nick

Remembering Greg

We have known Greg for nearly 50 years; Kevin even longer. Our hearts are saddened by his loss as well as what this loss means to Janie, Ryan and Eric. We pray the God comforts you during this time, and friends embrace you with love and memories.
Fondly,
Kevin and Kathleen Jansen
