Gordon H. “Skip” Glazier, age 80, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood, KY, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 11, 1944, in Cincinnati, OH, Skip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth, wit, and dedication to his family and passions left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lorraine Glazier, and his beloved grandson, Geoffrey Gordon Glazier Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Connie Glazier (née Frey), his loving son, Geoffrey Gordon (Adriana) Glazier Sr., his cherished grandchildren, Amari Rose Glazier and Giovanni Rein Glazier, and his dear sister, Linda Whittle.
Skip had a strong work ethic and spent 15 years as a Credit Manager at Cincom Systems before retiring in September 2016. His retirement years were spent caring for Connie during her health challenges, a testament to his unwavering love and commitment.
A man of remarkable wit and perseverance, Skip was an accomplished bowler, even earning a place in the National Bowling Hall of Fame in Kansas City, Missouri for being the first person to bowl an 802 series on plastic coated pins and once showcased his talent on King of TV Bowling. His love of sports led him to coach his son, Geoff, in baseball and basketball passing down his knowledge and passion. Skip also enjoyed golf, especially his cherished trips to Myrtle Beach with family and friends. A diehard University of Cincinnati fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his team.
Skip’s love for family and friends was immeasurable. His poker games with his longtime postal worker buddies were legendary, bringing laughter and camaraderie four times a year. Whether at the lanes, the golf course, or the card table, Skip’s presence brought joy to those around him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery.
