George William Kane

George William Kane, age 87, of Florence , Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. He was born on May 27, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

George shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandy. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They especially cherished traveling side by side, proudly visiting 48 out of the 50 states and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

George had a passion for staying active and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He loved bowling and spent many happy years in a bowling league with Sandy. A devoted fan of all sports, and also enjoyed attending movies and experiencing the magic of Broadway, with Cats and The Lion King among his favorites.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Kane Morphew; his parents, George Kane and Anna (Crawford); his brother, Robert Kane; and his sister, Patricia Rohrig; his nephew, Rick Rohrig.

George is survived by his loving son, Greg Gabbard; his cherished granddaughter, Sydni Lee Morphew; his nephews, Mark (Valerie) Rohrig, Kevin (Kathy) Kane, and Robert Kane, ; his nieces, Ruby Rohrig, Susan (Phil) Mascarelli, and Kelley (Paul) Lussier; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind many lifelong friends who will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and companionship.

Visitation will be held on April 7, 2026, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with services beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of Cincinnati.

George will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
