George J. Watkins MD
George Joseph Watkins, MD, 94, of Ft. Mitchell, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. George served many, as a family practitioner in Milford, OH, until he retired at the age of 82. He was a philanthropist, enjoyed fishing and gardening, he was passionate about nature, and he was an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Callie Watkins; his wife, Rita Catherine Watkins and his Aunt, Maud Shepherd. He is survived by his children: Chris Watkins (Gina), Rita Watkins Maurer, MD (Tom), and Joe Watkins (Patti). George also leaves behind his grandchildren: Michael, Katie, Lindsay, and Grace. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Ft. Mitchell. A reception will follow the Mass in the undercroft of Blessed Sacrament Church. To the family of Dr. George Watkins
I am truly sorry for the loss of your gentle father. My Dad was a patient of his for many years and I want you to know how much he cared for him. Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease and your Dad would research ways to make my Dad’s life a bit easier. He counseled him and me and I will forever remember how gentle he was with my precious Father.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a loved one isn’t easy. Our loving God invites us at 1 Peter 5:7 ” to throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” May God give you courage and strength to sustain you in the days ahead. At John 5:28,29 Jesus spoke about a resurrection for our loved ones. These verses helped me to cope with the death of my brother and father may it do the same for you and your family.
