Gene Bussman

ELSMERE ??” Gene Bussman, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 22, at his home.

He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, Erlanger Branch, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Post Office Union, St. Henry Church in Elsmere, chairman of the St. Henry Church festival, coach for the Dixie Area Knothole baseball and St. Henry High School baseball and he umpired high school and college baseball games.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Bussman; sons, Paul Bussman of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and James J. Bussman of Elsmere; daughter, Mary Gina Connor of Florence; sister, Mary Lou Schroeder of Ludlow; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26 at St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
