George “Gene” Brandenburg, 81, passed away at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Gene was a loving husband, caring father, tireless worker and handyman as well a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his siblings Dan, Bonnie and Nan. Gene will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Lee Brandenburg of Independence, KY; children Ken Brandenburg (Linda) of Burlington, KY, Jeannie Lester (Scott) of Ft. Thomas, KY, Barbara Hoxby (Kent) of Florence, KY, Connie Gross of Alexandria, KY, John Brandenburg (Linda) of Mainville, OH, and Craig Brandenburg (Tricia) of Walton, KY; grandchildren Kyle, Kevin, Kara, Jake, Branden, Elyse, Nick, Mitch, Rachel, Aaron, Zach, Olivia, Riley and sister Mary Meek. Visitation will be held at Linnemann Family Funeral Home in Erlanger KY on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM followed by Mass at St. Paul Church in Florence, KY at 12:10 PM and entombment at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.
