Tributes
Frances E. Perry, 92, of Dayton, KY, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas.
Born on July 6, 1933, in Paintsville, KY, Frances was the second youngest of ten children born to Sam and Sallie Wilcox. When her father passed away when she was only eight, Frances began helping her family at a young age—a role that shaped her lifelong spirit of care and hard work.
She met her high school sweetheart, Rodney Perry, and they shared 24 years of marriage before his passing in 1984. Together, they raised seven children—six girls and one boy—creating a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values.
Frances was a proud graduate of Paintsville High School and built a long and successful career in retail, serving as a Department Manager, Customer Service Leader, and Sales Manager with companies including Pogues, Rinks, and Van Luenens. She was admired for her work ethic, sharp mind, and dedication to doing things the right way—always with care and precision.
At home, Frances was known for her feisty personality, her giving heart, and her knack for keeping things spotless. She was an extreme cleaner—floors, walls, and windows never stood a chance when she went on a cleaning spree! Her Christmas gatherings were legendary, filled with beautiful decorations, delicious meals, and cherished family traditions. She loved cooking for her family, often working through the night to make sure every detail was perfect.
Frances enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, solitaire, word searches, and watching the jewelry channel. She had a soft spot for chocolate-covered turtles, and her family will fondly remember her sweet tooth and her sense of humor. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave tough love when needed but endless love always.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Sallie Wilcox; siblings Rossco, Jane, Angie, Ray, Innis, and Isom; her husband, Rodney Perry; her son, Tom Perry; daughter, Teresa Perry; granddaughter, Sarah Perry; and son-in-law, Marco Meconio.
Frances is survived by her loving children: Ronda Meconio, Sandy Perry, Karen Perry, Cindy Utz, and Jackie (Willie) Perry; her brother, Willard (Alice Gregory) Wilcox; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. Frances will be laid at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.
