Florence Lee Samples

Florence Lee Samples (nee Hamm), age 85, died December 20, 2017 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth HealthCare in Edgewood. She was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, piano teacher and Sunday school teacher but her favorite job was being with family and friends. Florence resided in Burlington, KY and was a longtime member of Burlington Baptist Church. She loved playing cards, traveling and being surrounded by her family.  Her kind, caring, Christ-like spirit   touched so many lives. She was one of those women that most aspire to be. She always had a genuine smile and set a wonderful example of courage and strength for all those who knew her. Her brother Paul “Denny” Hamm preceded her in death along with her great-grandchild Mekaela Kenney. Survivors include her husband Cecil “Huston” Samples of Burlington; daughters Vicki Cecile Kenney of Burlington and Kimberly Speagle (Russell) of Burlington; grandchildren, Christopher Kenney, Jason Kenney and LeeAnn Clarke (Philip) ; great grandchildren Caitlin Kenney, Landon Kenney, Conner Kenney and Jamison Clarke and her sister Vera Edith Mackey (Herb) of Elizabethtown.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 26^th, 5-8pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington and Wednesday December 27^th 11am-12 noon at Burlington Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Burlington Baptist Church 3031 Washington St, Burlington, KY 41005 or St. Elizabeth Health Care Hospice at:St. Elizabeth Foundation1 Medical Village Dr. Edgewood, KY  41017.
