Faye Wilson

Obituary
Condolences

Wilma Faye Wilson, age 78, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 25, 2024, surrounded by her family and holding the hand of her devoted husband, Paul.

Faye was born on April 23, 1945, as the only child of the late Robert and Cleopatra Clifford. As an only child, she made deep connections with her extended family, and she continued to cherish her many cousins and other relatives throughout her life.

Faye married Paul Wilson, her husband of 60 years, on July 5, 1962. Together, they built a life and a family that eventually grew to include three children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Faye was a homemaker and worked diligently to care for her family, of which she was exceedingly proud. Family meant everything to Faye, and she never missed an opportunity to brag to a stranger about those she held dear. She was a proud displayer of artwork and a generous giver of gifts. She loved to laugh and always made room for others at her table. She loved a good bargain, a good purse, and a fancy hat. She was a tiny, fierce woman with the heart of a lion.

Faye loved to crochet and was an excellent cook. She loved parties, and lived for opportunities to gather and fellowship at family reunions, holidays, and church social events. Even in her final days, Faye was planning and looking forward to a big family reunion (and daring anyone invited not to show up!) Faye was a thoughtful and caring soul, whose faith and love for God never wavered. She spent her life serving others and the effects of her kindness and giving spirit will be felt for years and years to come.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her husband, Paul Wilson; children, Paula (David) Coldiron, Anthony (Sheila) Wilson, Rhonda (Ray) Whipker; grandchildren, Sarah (Mitchel) Casson, Katie Renfro, Casey (Colleen) Wilson, Patrick (Makayla) Coldiron, Megan Wilson, Cody Whipker, Kaleb (Lora) Whipker, Cole (Madi) Deich; great grandchildren, Carter, Caraline, Charlotte, Cawood, Silas, Kaiden, and Laramie; as well as several extended family members and dear friends.

Faye was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Robert F. and Cleopatra Morrison Clifford, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who also preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held for Faye on Saturday, March 2, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.  A service celebrating Faye’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Faye will be laid to rest at Burlington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Faye’s name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

In honor of Faye’s love of accessorizing, the family encourages all ladies to wear their favorite hat during the services.
