Evelyn Ensor

Evelyn Greenwade Ensor, 77, of Crestview Hills, passed away on Sunday, August, 28th, 2011, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. Evelyn spent her life teaching. After graduating from Mt. Sterling High School in 1951, she received her teaching degree in Home Economics from the University of Kentucky. Evelyn came to Lloyd Memorial High School in 1959. Evelyn was very active with the students during her years teaching at Lloyd. Her dedication to the students continued as a founding member of the Lloyd Memorial Alumni Association. She was instrumental in building the group to what it is today. She believed schools could not exist without the community support. In her own words, “It is a two way street”. She was very active in Erlanger Christian Church and the Betty Carter Morgan Federated Women’s Club. Evelyn spent many hours giving time to her work, community, church, and family which were so interwoven it was hard to tell where one began and the other ended. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Harold, her daughter Vickie (Ken) Rowland; two grandchildren, Ruth and Marymargaret. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Erlanger Christian Church, 27 Graves Avenue, Erlanger KY (41018) or The Ensor Scholarship, 450 Bartlett Avenue, Erlanger, KY, (41018). Visitation will be held Friday, September, 2nd from 5PM to 8PM, and Saturday, September, 3rd from 9AM to 11AM, followed by funeral service at 11AM at Erlanger Christian Church, 27 Graves Avenue, Erlanger, KY, 41018. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Linnemann Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Erlanger, is serving the family.
