Eugene E. Bessler
Eugene “Gene” E. Bessler, 92, of Crestview Hills, KY, died on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Emerald Trace in Erlanger. Gene served in WW II as a United States Marine in the Marshal Islands of the Pacific. He was an active member of the Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association and was awarded the Delmer Whisenant Award for Outstanding Contributions by the Associate Council in 1980. He will always be remembered for his efforts on Cooking Team for the Annual Clam Bake. He was a devout Catholic, made his Cursillo at Camp Marydale, and was prepared to meet Our Lord. He was a Volunteer Fireman of the former Point Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department near Mineola Pike. Gene was a supportive and loving father who instilled in his children a strong work ethic and a sense of moral values. He was a gentle man who was a pillar of strength. He was a great man who remained humble. He enjoyed yard work, bonfires, playing cards and cherished time he spent with his grandchildren. Please remember his ready smile and his hearty laugh. He loved his family and he loved his life. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife of 47 years, Mary Lou Joyce, and spending time with his family, especially his 29 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1stwife, Anna Mae Bessler (nee Allgeyer); his children, Eugene Bessler and Andrea Seiter; and his siblings Dorothy Bessler and Margaret Brauch. Gene also leaves behind his children, Barbara (Ed) Gebauer, Ted (Barbara) Seiter, Ann (Glen) Pratt, Terry (Sally Baker) Seiter, Tim (Shelli) Seiter, Tom (Diane) Seiter, Vince (Kathy) Bessler, Julie (Todd) Trenkamp, and Michael (Stephanie) Bessler; and his siblings, Mary Gilligan, Joe (Laverne) Bessler, and Ed (Maureen) Bessler. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4:30PM-7:00PM at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 7:00PM at the church.
