Ella Preston

Ella V. Preston, 97, of Florence, KY passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at Florence Park Care Center in Florence. Ella was an Educator and Librarian for the Letcher Co. School Board for 30 years. She was very active in the Retired Teacher’s Association, member of the Homemakers Club and belonged to the Little Cowan Primitive Baptist Church in Whitesburg, KY. Ella loved gardening and enjoyed quilting. She is survived by her loving son, Bruce (Diana) Preston of Florence, KY, grandson, Michael (Stefanie) and a host of family and friends. Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Preston in 2003. Visitation will be Monday, July 21, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes, Erlanger with a celebration of life to follow. Burial will be at Hop Gibson Cemetery on little Cowan in Whitesburg, KY. Memorial contributions are suggested to Florence Park Care Center.
