Edwin McGarvey

EDGEWOOD- Edwin Dwight “Dinny” McGarvey, 81, passed away January 17th at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. He worked for DuBois Chemical for 39 years where he was a Divisional Sales Manager. After graduating from Villa Madonna College (Thomas More), he served as a Lieutenant in the US Coast Guard, were he was an aviator at the Naval Air Station in San Juan, doing Air-Sea rescue. Dinny was an avid golfer at Summit Hills Country Club, spent time boating and fishing at Lake Cumberland, and had a passion for antique cars. Survivors include his wife Connie McGarvey of Edgewood, son Scott (Kelley) McGarvey of Union, son Marc McGarvey of Edgewood and brother-in-law Dr. Richard Marting of Savannah GA. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Taylor and Kendall McGarvey of Union. A memorial visitation will be held Friday January 23rd from 10am to 10:30am with services to follow at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park.. Burial of cremated remains will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ft Mitchell KY. Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church 2551 Dixie Hwy Lakeside Park KY 41017.
