Edward H. Shippe

Edward H. Shippe, 88, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. Born on November 11, 1936, to the late Harry and Harriet Shippe (née Jones), Edward lived a life defined by quiet strength, devotion, and steady hands.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol J. Shippe, and his brother, Don Shippe. Edward is survived by his children, Joanne Goddard (Jim), Michael Shippe (Carmen), and Steve Shippe; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Edward worked for Ford Motor Company for 33 years, where his skill and dedication earned the respect of those around him. A talented mechanic and carpenter, he could fix or build just about anything. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — the company of family, the rhythm of his work, and his deep love for animals, especially birds and fish.

Edward will be remembered as a humble, gentle man whose quiet presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

A private family service will be held to celebrate his life.
