Edward Diehl
Edward Blaine Diehl, 64, of Erlanger, KY passed away November 21, 2012, from complications of lung cancer, while staying at Baptist Village Care Center where he was within blocks of his boyhood home. Edward graduated from Lloyd High School in 1966 and then the University of Kentucky where he became a life-long basketball fan and was in New Orleans, with his son-in-law, for the 2012 Final Four for UK’s championship. He served his country in the Air Force for many years and followed that tradition of service as a human resources officer for the state of North Carolina. He was a member of Erlanger Christian Church since early childhood. He was also a multi-year member of a book club, meeting at the local library. Edward loved to perform magic tricks for his four grandchildren. He attended many Reds games every year, including opening days in both Cincinnati and Washington. Montgomery Inn was a favorite eating spot and he loved hot sauces. He was a very accomplished salmon fisherman who netted many fish over the past 15 years. He is survived by his two daughters Heather and Nicole, their husbands Enrique and Adam, and four beautiful grandchildren, Lucy, Eva, Alec, and Caleb, all of Virginia. He will be missed by his family and friends. Memorials are suggested to the Lloyd High School Scholarship Fund 450 Bartlett Ave. Erlanger, KY 41018 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
