Dr. Maynard Conner

Dr. Maynard Calvin Conner, 101, of Villa Hills, KY, formerly of Blacksburg, VA, died gently surrounded by loved ones on September 29th, 2014 at his home. He was a professor of agricultural economics at Virginia Tech for 33 years, a member of the Blacksburg Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion. He was awarded the silver star as a captain of company D, third Marine division in Bougainville, Solomon Islands in WWII. He is preceded in death by his parents Posie and Mae Conner; his brothers, P.C., Leonard, and Moir Conner. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lucy Conner and his daughter, Dr. Beth Jackson both of Villa Hills, his grandson, Dr. Harrison Jackson of Charlottesville, VA.; and his sister, Lillian Turner of Woolwine, VA.
