Dorothy “Dottie” Nugent

Dorothy “Dottie” Nugent, 93, of Lakeside Park, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024.

Born on May 22, 1931, her life was a testament to dedication, love, and joy. An avid gardener, she took great pride in cultivating her beautiful garden. Dottie also had a passion for traveling, eagerly exploring new places and creating lasting memories along the way.

A devoted parishioner of Mother of God Church, Dottie was known for her unwavering faith and involvement in parish life. Her warmth and kindness were reflected in her daily interactions and in her deep love for her beloved dog, Chubbs who passed before her.

She is preceded in death by her son, Carl Nugent, her siblings; Elaine Dunaway, William Dunaway, Gene Dunaway, Jack Dunaway, Rosemary Martini, and her son in law, Joe Heneghan.

Dottie had a varied and fulfilling career. She began as a secretary, transitioned to a medical assistant, and later devoted herself to running an in-home daycare. Through these roles, she touched many lives with her compassion and dedication. 

A lover of simple pleasures, Dottie enjoyed the crisp satisfaction of pretzels and the refreshing taste of Coca-Cola. Above all, she adored her family. She will be remembered as a pilar of strength for her family who took pride in raising six wonderful kids. and She also took immense pride in her grandchildren, often sharing stories of their accomplishments with great joy.

Dottie is survived by her children; Mary Bowman (Mark Stephens) of New Richmond, OH, Jean Heldman of Blue Ash, OH, Cathy Heneghan of Cold Springs, KY, Tina (Mark) Conradi of Villa Hillas, KY, and son Brian (Carla) Nugent of Hebron, KY, her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky from 12:30pm until 2:30pm with a service to follow at 2:30pm. 

Dottie will be laid to rest privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
