Donald Leon King

Donald Leon King, age 84, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away on September 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born to the late Wayne and Nita King on May 3, 1940 in Brooksville, Kentucky.

Donald was a proud chemical engineer, dedicating 30 years of his career to Borden Chemical. His intellect and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of those who knew him. Outside of work, he was a devoted HAM radio enthusiast.

An avid fisherman, Donald loved spending time by the water, casting his line and enjoying the tranquility of nature. He also enjoyed  University of Kentucky basketball and cheering for the Wildcats.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Linda King, his son, Brian (Kate) King, grandson, Travis (Brittany) King, and great-granddaughter, Elora King, who will all remember him for his kindness, and unwavering support. 

A visitation for Donald will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, Kentucky from11:00am until 1:00pm with a service to be held at 1:00pm. Burial will be attended to privately by the family. A reception will be held to follow the burial at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, Kentucky until 4:30pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Erlanger Church of Christ or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Donald’s memory. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
