She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Paul Smith of Edgewood, KY; her children, Brian (Julie) Smith of Wilmington, NC, Amanda (Shade) McMillen of Akron, OH, and Megan (Justin) Morris of Union, KY; and her siblings, Maryann (James) McCauley, Patricia (Richard) Pollak, and Thomas (Priscilla) Malone.

Diane was truly passionate and dedicated to her family.  She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to make sure they knew how much they were loved.

Diane was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 11th, attended Schreiber High School in Port Washington N.Y., and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago, where as an exchange student at CIVIS in Italy, she met her future husband, Paul. Diane was an elementary school teacher in Chicago and then focused her time, love, and energy on raising her family through the family moves to Wisconsin, New York, North Carolina, and Kentucky.  She was an amazing tennis player who shared her passion for the game with her children and grandchildren.  Diane loved to travel and was the happiest walking on the beach, looking for sand dollars, and floating in the ocean. Our sweet neighbor

Diane was always so friendly and kind. She always greeted us with a smile, and we have loved getting to know her in our 6 1/2 years across the street. What a blessing she was to her family. Sending love and prayers.

Beautiful Lady

We were so sorry to hear of Diane’s passing. We remember her well from FOCC …….being the good mother to her tennis player kids and attending to them at the pool. Also, Amanda was in Indian Princess with Allison. May the many fond memories of the places you lived and the lives Diane touched be with you always. In Christ, Gail and Jim Deal, Formerly of Forest Oaks, now reside near Pinehurst, NC
