Denise Johnston, age 71, of Union, Kentucky, passed away on August 24, 2024, at Good
Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. Born on September 28,
1952, in Covington, Kentucky, Denise was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jeanne Ober
(nee. Bromley).

A devoted member of Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger, Kentucky, Denise’s faith was
a cornerstone of her life. She will be remembered for the many ways she touched the lives of
those around her, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

Denise had a passion for travel and an extraordinary gift for genealogy. Her dedication to
discovering new family members, no matter where in the world they lived or how distant the
connection, was a testament to her boundless love and curiosity. She delighted in meeting
these newfound relatives, embracing them as if they had always been part of her life.

Denise was the heart of her family, the glue that held them together through every joy and
sorrow. She celebrated their successes, comforted them in times of sadness, and loved them
unconditionally. Her presence was a blessing, and the love she gave was an irreplaceable gift
that will be cherished forever.

Denise is preceded in death by her brothers, Andy and Steve Ober. She leaves behind her
devoted husband, J. Ford Johnston, Jr., her children, Nicole (Brian) Williams, J. Ford III
(Michelle) Johnston, Lisa (Shannon) Warner, and Ryan Welch, as well as nine beloved
grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Pam Faulkner, and her brother, Dan Ober.

A memorial Mass to honor Denise’s life will be held on September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at
Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger, Kentucky. A Celebration of Life will also take place
on Saturday, September 28, 2024, to further remember and honor her legacy.

Denise’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love will
continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
