Delores “Pumpkin” Kenton, age 74, passed away on July 18, 2024, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and many cherished memories.

Pumpkin had a passion for life and lived life to the fullest. She found joy in RV camping in Western North Carolina digging for the next biggest ruby. She loved country music, oldies, and going to concerts. On Friday nights, you’d often catch her at IHM bingo. Pumpkin will always be remembered for her love for life and generous heart.

She was born on July 9, 1950, in Hebron, KY to the late Francis Faulkner and Mary Jane Kindle.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Sue Faulkner, father, Francis Faulkner, and mother, Mary Jane Kindle.

Early in life, Pumpkin was a very hard worker and worked many jobs, but she loved working as a florist and bringing joy to people with her creative designs and arrangements.

Above all, Pumpkin treasured moments spent with her husband, Ray, who was her beacon of light. They were married on November 8, 1969, and spent 54 beautiful years together.

Pumpkin cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love and wisdom was infectious to all who knew her. Her home was always a gathering place full of love and laughter.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ray S. Kenton, of Petersburg, KY, alongside her beloved dog Daisy; daughter, Cassandra Kenton of Burlington, KY; son Ray Kenton (Jenna) of Hebron, KY; grandchildren Matthew Kenton of Burlington, KY, Noah Kenton of Hebron, KY, Ethan Kenton of Hebron, KY, Isabella Kenton of Hebron, KY, and Raelynn Kenton of Hebron, KY.  Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

The Pallbearers will be Ray Kenton, Jr., Matthew Kenton, Noah Kenton, Ethan Kenton, Bill Stuck, and Billy Stuck.

A visitation will be held on July 26th at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington from 11am-12pm, until the time of service at 12pm.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, KY.   A celebration of life reception will be held at the Petersburg Community Center.
