Delores Begley

Delores Begley, 92 of Burlington, KY passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, July 24, 2023.  She was born in Corbin, KY to the late Everett and Christine Cromwell on October 6, 1930.

Delores grew up in Corbin, KY and later moved to Northern, KY when she was seven years old.  She was raised in the depression which helped instill a strong work ethic in her from day one.  She worked very hard to provide for her family and loved them very much. Delores married the man of her dreams, Mr. Farmer Begley Jr. in 1951.  They started a life together and had two wonderful daughters.  Delores was busy raising children and keeping a home but still managed to find time to work in retail for many years before retiring.  She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, watching cooking shows and trying new recipes. Delores and Farmer loved horse racing and traveled to Louisiana and Arkansas to see the races.  She loved playing rummy and any kind of cards.  Delores was a spunky, funny and playful lady.  She had a heart of gold and was very determined to do everything she could for her children and grandchildren.  Anyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving this great lady will miss her endlessly.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Everett and Christine Cromwell and husband Farmer Begley Jr.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her daughters, Linda Begley Collier (Bob), Paula Begley Jenkins; grandchildren John (Lindsay) Collier, Cristyn Collier Fleisch (John), Megan Jenkins; great grandchildren Declan Collier, Kellan Collier, Mila Collier and her special caregiver and friend, Sherri Schlake.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
