Daniel Schneider

Obituary
Condolences

Daniel Robert Schneider, “Dan,” of Lakeside Park, Kentucky, passed away on July 15, 2026, at University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1960, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Richard and Rosella (nee Renaker) Schneider.

From a young age, Dan had a love for reading, especially the works of Stephen King. That passion eventually led him to a rewarding career in education, where Dan dedicated 27 years to teaching at Florence Elementary and Glen O. Swing Elementary.

Dan had a personality that was impossible to forget. He was quick-witted, funny, and always ready with a joke or prank. His playful spirit brought laughter to those around him. Dan never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make people feel welcome and valued.

Outside of teaching, Dan enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time at the beach, especially in Key West, Florida, and treasured family trips to Albion, Michigan, where he enjoyed making memories with his cousins. He loved visiting the casino, tending to his yard, and caring for his beautiful flowers and plants. Some of his favorite moments were spent gathered around the table for board games and family game nights.

Dan is preceded in death by his sister, Janice Whittaker, and his brother, Tim Schneider.

He is survived by his siblings, Rick (Vicki) Schneider, Cheryl (Jerry) Moore, Cindy (Bill) Garrison, and Lois Schneider; his brother-in-law, Mike Whittaker; his longtime friend, Terry McKinley; 13 nieces and nephews; many cousins; and countless friends.

Funeral services for Dan will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Fun at Florence Elementary!

I taught with Dan, Linda, Vickie, and Donna in the early 1990’s. What a tribe we were! I have never laughed so hard and learned so much from these wonderful teachers. Linda and Dan made a great team and role models. I called him SchneidWide and he called me Cantwald! He would pop into my room and get my room laughing by teasing me! His awesome laugh and huge smile will be so missed. I am praying for Dan and all the people in his life that remember him fondly, especially the teachers that had to privilege of working with him. ~ Kathie Cantrall

My Teacher Memory

I was a ~1993 5th grade Florence Elem-student [knight] and my only core-school memories come from Mr.Schneider’s top floor corner classroom. I had the privilege of early Schneider access when my mother became work partners and best teacher work friends with Mr.Schneider. She calls him my [honorary] “Uncle Dan” for my sister and myself. I know about each major project of my 5th grade school year and held to the same critiques and grading as all students. Birthday gifts received.
Female teaching are the best. Male teacher role-model to a -~ 11 year old boy are the most special.
May the memory of Mr. Schneider be great and the 5th grader teachers to my two sons.
