Clifford Leo Brungs, 85 of Edgewood, KY passed away on March 24, 2013 at St. Margaret Hall Nursing Home in Cincinnati. Mr. Brungs was a retired manager with the I.R.S. He proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the Army during WWII. While enlisted in the Army he received the victory ribbon and the meritorious service unit wreath. Mr. Brungs was a member of the Jack & Jill Club and the Covington Theatre Guild. He was a member of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY where he was the longest serving member of the Bishop’s Choir for 74 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; G. Joseph and Cecilia Brungs, brothers; Bernard, Joseph, and Robert Brungs and granddaughter, Jennifer Osbourn. Mr. Brungs leaves behind his loving wife Rose Brungs of 53 years. He is survived by his loving children; Roseanna (Rick) Atchley of Erlanger, KY, Bernie (Pam) Brungs of Florence, KY, Suzanne Brungs of West Chester, OH, and Cecilia (Dan) Freihofer of Newport, KY, and sister; Florence Brungs of Covington, KY. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Jeremy Osbourn, Ashley Osbourn, Karly Brungs, and Evan Brungs. Visitation for Mr. Brungs will be Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Erlanger. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00am at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington with entombment to follow at Mother of God Mausoleum, Covington. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Schwab Organ Fund at the Cathedral or the Alzheimer’s Association.
