Cheryl Lynn Cox March 6, 1945 – March 25, 2025

Cheryl Lynn Cox, a beloved educator and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Erlanger, Kentucky, at the age of 80.

Born on March 6, 1945, in Muncie, Indiana, Cheryl devoted her life to nurturing young minds and fostering meaningful relationships. She earned her degree from Wright State University and went on to complete a master’s degree at Xavier University. She retired as a dedicated and inspiring school teacher at Goodridge Elementary, where she left an indelible mark on countless students and colleagues.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jesse V. Cox and Mary Jane (née Reed). She is survived by her devoted sister, Sheila Mae Shriver (Randall), and her dearest lifelong friend, Eva Glossip, who brought warmth and joy to her life.

Cheryl loved to travel and see the world, notably Europe and various Scandinavian countries. In the U.S, Cheryl from coast to coast, visiting from Maine to California and even Hawaii.

As well as a well-seasoned traveler, Cheryl was a connoisseur of the arts, frequenting concerts and plays in Cincinnati. Cheryl was a beloved member of the teacher’s A.D.K and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at restaurants and shopping trips.

The visitation will be held at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, Kentucky, on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Service celebrating Cheryl’s life will take place the following day, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 pm with reception following.   A private burial will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cheryl’s honor to Best Friend Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd, Kanab, UT 84741, reflecting her lifelong love for close connections and compassion for others.

Cheryl will always be remembered for her unwavering dedication to children, her passion for education, and her gift for forming deep and enduring relationships. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
