Charles David Patton

Obituary
Condolences

Beloved husband, father, and friend, Charles David Patton, age 79, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1946, in Martin, Kentucky.

Charles was the son of the late Charles Patton and Geneva Patton (née Webb). He was also preceded in death by his son, David Patton; and his sisters, Sharon Moore, Deanna Samons, and Babs Sparks.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Susannah Patton (née Pearce); his children, Jennifer Hurta-Elkins (Robert), Marcie Patton-Coffman (James), and Josh Patton (Elizabeth), and his sister Charlene Johnson. He was a proud grandfather to Cheyenne, Teddy Duncan, Connor, Chance, Avery, Landon, Ella, Gabe, and Ricky, and a cherished great-grandfather to Lilly and Amara.

A carpentry instructor by trade, Charles loved teaching.  Teaching in general was a large part of Charles’ life, whether it be showing his children and grandchildren how to play the guitar or sing an iconic toon, build a campfire with “girl scout water”, spiritly play cards, hang dry wall, or resurface old furniture. He was a supportive satirical strength for his family with countless one liners.  He is loved and will be missed. In the words of Charlie, “if you can’t be good, be good at it”.

Visitation will be held on January 3, 2026, at Linnemann Funeral Homes, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Catholic blessing will follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky.
