Tributes
Charles “Charlie” T. Krebs, 76, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood.
Charlie was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served active duty during the late 1960s and early 1970s. A wartime veteran, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his service to his country.
For nearly 54 years, Charlie was married to the love of his life, Laura. Together they built a life centered around the love for their family. Charlie was a true family man; nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. His grandkids were his whole world.
Charlie was a distinguished Sheetmetal Foreman of the Local 24 Union and he had completed numerous, impressive projects in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. After retirement, Charlie enjoyed working with his hands and spending time outdoors. He loved gardening, especially tending to his tomatoes until his health no longer allowed. He found joy in fishing, playing horseshoes, watching fireworks, and sharing meals with those he loved- especially his steaks, no one grilled them better than Charlie. He was also a huge fan of rock ’n’ roll music, old westerns like Gunsmoke and The Rifleman, and avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.
Charlie will be remembered for his strong work ethic and kind heart. He was a provider and a protector, a man who loved deeply and lived fully. Above all, he was a lover—not a fighter—who brought warmth, laughter, and strength to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Kathryn Krebs; siblings: Floyd Krebs, Ralph Krebs, William Krebs, Frances Dryer.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Laura Krebs; children: Charles T. (Sharon) Krebs, Jr., Michael A. (Mary Barker) Krebs, Tonya M. (Alex) Workman, Tiffany L. Cooper and Chad A. (Emily) Krebs; grandchildren: Dalton, Erin, Casey, Andrew, Nicholas, Russell, Ebbie, Michael “Mikey”, Mason, Brooke, Alyssa and Colin; siblings: Kathyrn Steltenkamp, Mary Kohlman Sandra Menkhaus, Aloysius Krebs, Carole Scherder and Veronica Krebs; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM, at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018.
