Carol M. Mason

Carol Marie Mason, 92, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. Carol is the daughter of the late John and Toi Kidwell Mason.

Carol grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Floyd Mason, became a homemaker and raised 9 wonderful children. Carol was a kind soul who loved to help others. Her mothering instinct was so strong for not only her own children, but her daughter-in-laws and others in her family. She loved to read, watch Jeopardy, games and use her creative talents. Carol would often make her own birthday cards, Halloween costumes for the kids, and had a knack for color and design. Carol was an outstanding cook and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Carol will be missed beyond measure by everyone who knew her.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Buddy O’Dell; sisters, Mary (Charles) Dietsch, Betty Jo Dimas; brothers, Edward (Anita) Mason, Harry (Brenda) Mason, Charles (Shirley) Mason and Robert Mason.

Those left here to carry on Carol’s great legacy are her loving husband of 57 years, Floyd Mason; children, Betty (Charles) Gill, Carole (Doug) Hulslander, Alice Mason, Phillip (Carol) O’Dell, R. Eugene (Lori) O’Dell, P. Richard (Shirley) O’Dell, Terry (Vickie) O’Dell, A. Ray O’Dell; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother John (Carol) Mason, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Carol’s name to the Boone County Animal Shelter 5643 Idlewild Road Burlington, KY 41005.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, a memorial service will be held later at the convenience of her family.
